Newtown

In response to odor complaints and concerns presented by the Village of Newtown, the Southwest Ohio Air Quality Agency, in cooperation with the Ohio EPA Division of Air Pollution Control, conducted specialized monitoring in the area of Newtown and Anderson Township. Read the final report here.

The objectives of the project are to:

  • Detect and quantify ambient levels of organic compounds and air toxic compounds
  • Collect data on odors present in Newtown and nearby Anderson Township. All air monitoring results are forwarded to the Ohio EPA, Division of Air Pollution Control for their review and analysis.

Monitoring will include instantaneous volatile organic compound (VOC) sampling and 24-hour canister samples.
