Local Air Quality
The Southwest Ohio Air Quality Agency (Agency) monitors air pollutants daily. The results are then released to the public in the AQI daily index. Levels of six criteria pollutants are monitored to determine the region's air quality as it relates to a series of health-based standards. Pollen and mold counts, air toxics levels, anti-tampering inspections, stack observations/validations and emissions inventory programs are also conducted by the Agency.
This index is updated twice daily Monday through Friday. Residents can also call the Air Quality Index Hotline at 513-946-7753.
An Air Quality Advisory will be issued by the Agency between 2:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. the day before high ozone and/or high particulate matter levels are anticipated.
The Agency measures the daily levels of pollen and mold during the business week. Residents can also call the Air Quality Pollen and Mold Hotline at 513-946-7753.
The Agency maintains a monitoring network throughout Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Hamilton and Warren counties that uses state-of-the-art instruments dedicated to collecting high-quality air quality data.
